A subject you’ve enjoyed

The subject that most enjoy this semester was ‘’Political Communication’’ Because I have this subject with a very interesting teacher and I like the way he approaches the contents. With this teacher I studied many authors in the area of philosophy, stories such as: Foucault, Ranciere, Deleuze among others. These authors have also served me for my seminar, the research I worked on and studied throughout the academic year.

Usually the teachers of the ICEI approach their contents of the subject of form very journalism. But my teacher of Political Communication, Carlos Ossandon, is more complete and have a different form, maybe for his studies in other areas and curiosity.  I think he is a very educated person and makes the classes become a place of critical thinking. I always leave the class with something new to reflect on.

In the subject the classes treats topics as the political, the political, political ruptures, power mechanism, the rules, power relations, force relations, the body politic, political practices, the capture of body and more. Topics and problematics very important in this context.

My favourite movie scene

Bicycle Thief (Ladri di biciclette)

 One of the frames in the end of one of my favorite movies.

The thief of bicycles is one of my favorite movies, is about Antonio a man who, in full crisis of Rome of the postwar period, obtains a humble job hitting papers with the condition of having a bicycle, but on his first day of work his Bicycle is stolen. Antonio with his son Bruno try to recover it.

The beauty of this film is that it is very simple and the argument also, however, during the whole film there is a large building of the characters, especially Antonio, Bruno and the city. There is also a large building of the plot because when then the protagonist decides to steal a bicycle and his son the final scene makes a great sense.

The final scene is one of my favorite scenes and one of my favorite late, because the action so simple that Bruno approaches his dad and take the hand takes a giant load.

I appreciate that simplicity that manages to stir up the tears.

One of my favorite photos

The photograph is my nephew leaning on a railing with the tender look down and a small smile.

I take the picture because I always found it very photogenic also as a way of capturing his infancy, this beauty and innocence.

I like this photo because, as for its content, I love that moment of my nephew, also his expression and the peace and calm that transmits me to see the photo. In the technical thing I like because although I take it with a very basic camera I like the colors, the contrast and his framing.

I have this photo in my university folder and every time I start a new day in the university is very nice to see the photo. Also I have used the photo as a reference in art work at school and recently in an exercise of a subjet that is called a ‘’Color’’.

My favorite piece of technology

One of my favorite technology pieces is the electric kettle. 

Some time ago my kettle is damaged and there I realized how important it is for my day to day. I cook a lot and I love the hot infusions, and kettle makes them much faster my preparations in the kitchen and my beverages.

Sometimes strange that squeaking of the old teapot. I remember that whistling noise to the family that warned it was the time of tea, however, I also remember that I desperate that noise when we were busy with something else and could not shut down teapot for a long time.

Every time I travel one of the things that strange is my kettle. I hate having to pay a lot of money for a tea packaging and bad, or other ill-prepared infusions, only because I don't have my hot water.

Why did you choose this career?

Always I have thought that this question is complicated and sometimes a bit inconveniently, but I will do for my better effort for answering concretely.

From small i liked doing videos for the work of the college or activities. I liked edit videos and everything related with these. I could stop eating for hours and stop doing other things to make videos.

Then when I had to decide to study any university career and began the pressure for the decision, I was very clear that cinema was what more I liked. I see in the cinema a possibility to communicate and be heard and seen with more confidence that other sources or areas. I think that cinema can generate changes, these profound changes in the most intimate of the people.

A little of my

Hello Hello, my name is Rafaela + Villaseñor + Gallardo.

I was born on September 29, 1994 in the city of Iquique, Chile. I nowadays live in Santiago with my sister. She is of Chiloé and also she is studying here.

I have lived the latter 4 years in this city and I came with the motive of the university studies. I have got used to the capital, though every certain time I need my dose of Iquique or another leak.

Officially I study Cinema and TV (though not many TV really) in the ICEI, I go in the fourth year. I've had a love-hate relationship with the college career, but in the end it makes it more entertaining.

Besides the cinema also I am interested in other things as; study a little philosophy, the pedagogy, the sport, cooking, traveling, dancing, as good iquiqueña the beach, walking, laughing, among other things.
