Honestly, I
played very seldom the "Secret Friend". I don't remember very
well but I think I played only once this activity in school and it was not very
important, because I do not remember anything very positive or negative.
Or maybe yes...
Or maybe yes...
I remember
that when I was in 8th grade my professor of religion made us play the secret
friend, but instead of gifts we gave us letters. We could also give gifts but
it was not obligation, the important thing was the letter. This activity I
liked more.
I remember that at that time I was the secret friend of the child
who was my boyfriend. All my friends believed that he had cheated, but
according to him not and it was very romantic, because it gave me a very nice
letter and a teddy bear.
The only traumatic event with the secret friend I know up close is an experience of my sister. My sister has a lot of talent for doing manual things and I remember that on that occasion she tried hard to make a nice gift with her own hands, however, the gift she received was a few kitchen towels. When she returned to the apartment, she told me he was very angry. But now we remember and we laugh.

I hope you liked it, I left a good experience and another not so good.
